Thursday at the Deer Valley Music Festival: Circle Thursday for the Utah Symphony performing Famous Film Music at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 7:30pm. This will be a magical night of famous film music performed at the beautiful Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater in Park City, Utah. The program will feature the great scores from the most famous films including the Pirates of the Caribbean, Mission: Impossible, Star Wars, Beauty and the Beast, Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, and more. A fun and animated evening of film music performed by the Utah Symphony under the stars, as the music drifts up into the night air. All in celebration of this wonderful outdoor musical performance given as part of the 2026 Deer Valley Music Festival, the Utah Symphony's summer home.

Utah Symphony

The Utah Symphony is one of the leading orchestras in the country with over 175 concerts performed every year by 85 musicians. They perform at their home in Salt Lake City as well as summer concerts at the resorts of Deer Valley performing to an international audience. The Utah Symphony is one of the premier orchestras in America and has received numerous Grammy nominations for their recordings of famous film scores. Films have long been a source of some of the most beloved, beautiful, and recognizable music of all time. The music of the Utah Symphony brings these beloved films to life in new and powerful ways as 85 of the world's finest musicians perform live on stage. From the movie series Pirates of the Caribbean and Mission: Impossible to the iconic Star Wars and the magical world of Harry Potter as well as Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, and How to Train Your Dragon, this season of concerts by one of America's greatest orchestras will re-imagine these classic films in all new ways through the soaring strings, pounding drums, and blaring horns of the Utah Symphony.

Under the creative guidance of Music Director Emeritus Thierry Fischer, the Utah Symphony is currently working toward the appointment of a new Music Director, who will take the podium in the 2027-28 season. Markus Poschner, currently Resident Conductor of the Norwegian Opera & Ballet, was appointed to the position of Music Director Designate of the Utah Symphony in April 2019.
